Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Inc. (LOR) is a non-profit organization that provides goods and services to children who have been victim to abuse and/or neglect. We work directly with other non-profits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in low-income situations. We intervene at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong positive impact. SINCE 2006, WE HAVE CLOTHED OVER 8,000 CHILDREN IN THE TRI-COUNTY AREA.
What We Do

From collecting donations at our Valerie Vincent Children’s Closet, to annual events for children and special projects for local group homes and schools, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of abandoned, abused and neglected children in the Tri-County Area.

Watch for LORI around town as she fills up to help children in the Lowcountry by providing them with necessities including clothing, coats, underwear, shoes and socks, school supplies, toiletries and much more. Contact Marchant Chevrolet or visit our showroom for an in person donation, for information on how you can help.

How We Help
- Create libraries at group homes and fill them with wonderful seating, shelving, computers, and books for all ages.
- Host an annual “Make A Child Happy Day” event each October which enables foster children and children in group homes to get out of their environment and enjoy themselves for a full day of fun and love.
Our Vision

To ensure that abused, abandoned or neglected children coming into the system will have in their possession clothes, toiletries, school supplies and any other personal needs within 48 hours.
To own and maintain a ”clothing closet” that is staffed and supplied with essential items for abused, neglected and needy children. To organize fundraisers, raise money and secure in-kind donations.
To create fun events for these children where they will be enriched, nurtured and loved. To build a new single-gender group home for girls on Johns Island.
To assist existing shelters by creating on-site libraries, and purchasing items such as beds and washer/dryers for them.
